Serhat DereliBusiness software research

Look beyond the totals.

I’m Serhat Dereli. I’m researching practical CRM migration checks, starting with the manual work that remains before client handover.

Early-stage research. A conversation comes before a product proposal.

The detail changes
the conclusion.

This deliberately flawed example has six rows and £6,000 on both sides. Errors cancel each other in the total. Comparing the individual records reveals a different picture.

The duplicate adds £300. The missing record removes £200. The changed value removes £100. The overall total still matches.

Outside this example

File readability and effective user permissions are unknown. Reference labels and matching metadata do not establish whether files can be opened or who can access them.

This example explains a checking method. It is not output from a working product, a live CRM integration or a customer performance benchmark. All names and identifiers are fictional.

Start with the work
people already do.

Existing migration tools and delivery teams already run many checks. The research asks where repeated manual effort remains, and whether a small tool could improve it.

  1. Understand a recent project

Which checks took time? What did the team use? What worked well, and what needed repeated attention?

  2. Agree a small, representative test

Define the expected result, legitimate transformations and what cannot be checked. Use an appropriate example before making a delivery commitment.

  3. Compare the whole effort

Include data preparation, mapping, review and reruns. A useful improvement must save effort after those costs are counted.

A focused research project.

I’m exploring practical business software by examining specific workflows with the people who use them. The current focus is pre-handover migration checks for CRM implementation teams.

The project is at the discovery stage. The next step is to understand a real, repeated problem and test a small improvement against the current process.

Discuss a recent project.

A short conversation about your current checks, the manual work involved and whether outside support would be useful.

No client records are needed for the first discussion.
